Do you remember me? I didn't find my old thread but in the march of 2013 I've bought a 1991my Patrol y60 wagon highroof with the idea of building an overlanding vehicle in substitution of my old Rangie.

I'm actually glad to introduce you my Troll aka "the smallBus" after a month of real testing.

 

Est-ce que vous vous rappelez de moi? Je n'ai pas trouvé mon vieux thread mais dans le 2013 j'ai acheté un 1991 Patrol y60 wagon highroof avec l'idée de construire un véhicule overlander pour remplacer mon vieux Rangie.

Je suis heureux de vous présenter mon Troll que j'ai appelle "The smallBus" après un mois de vrai test.

 

 

 

A set of new Ome springs (+150kg front, +200kg rear) and Nitrocharged shocks has been fitted. The tyres are BfG At 235/85r16 the best tyre for overlanding, the only one size (with 7.50) you can find everywhere on the planet.

I've installed a front winch bumper with a 12000lbs winch fitted with dyneema and a snorkel with a cyclonic precleaner on the top.

 

J'ai installé Oun kit ressort OME (+150kg avant, +200kg arrière) et Nitrocharged amortisseurs, 235/85r16 BFG AT pneus, un winch bumper avec un treuil 12000lbs doué de câble textile dyneema.

 

 

I've stretched my old ARB roof rack with two pipe sections to match the whole roof lenght, now I can place my tent, 1 or 2 aluboxes, a spare wheel and an entire row of jerrycans if needed. On the small door side I've installed a DiY awning tent.

 

J'ai rallongé ma galerie de toit ARB et maintenant elle peut contenir, au-delà de la tente, 1 roue secour, 2 Aluboxes, 5 jerrycans. au côté gauche j'ai installé une store chez maison.

 

 

The engine is a workhorse and with 150'000km on the clock needs nothing than an oil radiator, I've planned to fit it soon. Winch needs amps so I've installed a second battery, a Viair heavy duty compressor has been fitted in place of the headlamp washer tank. An 8ltr@16bar airtank is fitted under the car near the right chassis rail.

 

Le moteur est stock, j'ai soulement aménagé d'au plus tôt d'installer un radiateur pour l'huile moteur. J'ai installé un compresseur Viair Heavy-Duty avec une bombonne a air (8ltr@16bar) placé au dessous de la caisse. J'ai le 2 batteries.

 

 

After many year of a pure two seaters (my old rangie was a 1979 two doors) I've decided to fit a cargo drawers system but mantainig the 4 seat places, so every square cm of place has being used.

A low profile drawer on 200k capable roller bearings sliders supports the 38 ltrs Engel 12/220v fridge and 2 plastic euroboxes containing all the camping gear.

 

j'ai voulu maintenir les 4 places, donc chaque centimètre de place il s'est très précieux: j'ai installé 2 tiroirs, ce de droite contient le frigo et l'équipement de camping, ce à gauche les outils et quelque piece de rechange

 

 

The fridge is also accessible in closed configuration.

 

Le frigo est accessible aussi avec le tiroir fermé

 

 

 

A Siliding tray contain tools and small spares. The top platform is used to carry baggages.

 

 

On each side 4 storage compartments are useful to store more gear.

 

 

Capitalizing the high roof, on the top of the right drawer I've built a sort of "mezzanine" where 4 folding chairs and a 100x70cm camping roll table (the grey big bag). All the gear is hold in place by a ratchet bucle.

 

En exploitant le toit haut j'ai réalisé une espèce de "soupente" qu'il contient table repliable et 4 chaises

 

 

 

Between the rear backrest and the drawers I've placed a 65ltrs water tank with pressure relief commanded water pump. The pipe line is accessible from the rear of the car.

The car has an alectrical 220v outlet with euro plug to use power outlet when in camping it is available. In the car the 220 should be used to power the fridge and a ctek battery crarger in case of needing.

 

Entre les sièges postérieurs et les tiroirs j'ai rangé un réservoir de 65 ltr pour l'eau avec une pompe d'origine nautique activée par un capteur de pression. la voiture a été équipée pour pouvoir se brancher aux prises électriques des campings comme un motorhome.

Under the rear seats a complete set of recorey gear, a farm jack, a foldable showel takes place. The water tank filling is in the rear quarter sliding window.

Dessous aux sièges postérieurs ils trouvent place les accessoires du treuil, les sangles de dépannage, le cric hi-lift et autres choses comme chaines a neige, triangle...

 

 

The front seats comes from a Ford Sierra Cosworth the trim color is almost the same of the Nissan stock. In the cockpit I've installed a CB Radio and the Garmin Monterra/Montana Gps ram mount with power feeding and audio out. I've fitted a sewed steering wheel cover and now the drive is far comfy.

 

Les sièges avant viennent d'une Ford Sierra Cosworth le revêtement est semblable vraiment à l'original Nissan. Sur le Tableau de bord j'ai installé un radio CB et un navigateur GPS Garmin.

@Jacktrol, en Turquie.

 

@Claude 71, c'est vrai, mais il a des côtés négatifs aussi: les supports de la galerie sont très longs et l'an dernier en voyage je me suis aperçu que sur piste ils vibraient et ils fléchissaient latéralement beaucoup. j'ai si décidé de souder des renforcements intérieurs pour rendre les "pattes" plus rigides.
