Thanks. There are similar love/hate relationships with the 3.0l here in Australia. However, 70%-80% of all Patrols sold in Australia have the 3.0l motor.
If money was not an issue, I'd buy the 4.2l and then spend another $7000 on it to make it really work - bigger boost, bigger injectors, exhaust etc.
There are some highly modified 4.2's here and they sound sooo sweet.
